Re:  September Board Meeting in the U.P.

Members:

As you know we are holding our once-a-year UP board meeting in September in Sault Ste. Marie this year.  The host agencies will be: Sault Ste. Marie Dial-A-Ride and Eastern Upper Peninsula Transportation Authority (EUPTA). Among planned activities will be an opportunity for you to tour the brand new EUPTA facility which just opened earlier this year.

We have arranged a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express, which is located just off the second Sault Ste. Marie (MI) I-75 interchange (as you are driving in from the south). This is the final exit before you cross over into Sault, Canada.  The hotel is easy to spot once you exit the highway.  Rooms are discounted to $170/night (if you’ve traveled in the UP since Covid, you know that they are not discounting very much) and our room block is reserved for Thursday night, September 19, 2024.  As is past practice, we will hold the board meeting on the morning of Friday, September 20, 2024 at 9 a.m.  This will allow those of you planning to return home that day an earlier start and for those who may plan to stay (and play) in the UP over the weekend, you’ll be able to do so once the meeting ends.

There were initially some issues with the link not correctly directing to our room block and price and when we discovered that, they extended the deadline for our block reservations to no later than September 13th.  I would advise you to make your reservations as soon as possible.  If you need to cancel later, you always can. I believe they still allow cancellations up to 24 hours before arrival.

We will have additional details out to you prior to the meeting, but for your planning purposes and hotel reservations for our room block you should use this link now:
