ANN ARBOR, MI - The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority saw record ridership in fiscal year 2017, with nearly 6.9 million trips clocked on local fixed-route buses and other special services.

This week, the AAATA made available a new route-by-route ridership report showing how different routes performed last year.

The report shows the four major bus routes between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti had some of the highest ridership, with 2.7 million trips clocked between routes 3, 4, 5 and 6 combined.

That includes the East Huron River Drive, Washtenaw Avenue, Packard Road and Ellsworth Road routes.

There were another 2.3 million rides on Ann Arbor local buses (routes 21-33), 745,935 on Ypsilanti local buses (routes 41-47), and 731,209 on other cross-town buses (routes 60-68).
