The Passenger Service and Safety (PASS) Trainer Certification Program ensures that community transportation trainers have current expertise in passenger assistance, techniques, sensitivity skills, bus evacuation knowledge and skills in order to train drivers to serve persons with disabilities…

Day 1: Trainer Certification
- Introduction
- You as a Professional
- Customer Service: Who are your Customers; Communication; Stress Management
- Americans with Disabilities Act
- Service Animals
- Disability Awareness: Assisting the Visually Impaired; Hidden Disabilities; Stroke; Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders
Day 2: Trainer Certification
- Blood borne Pathogens (Hepatitis A,B,C; HIV, Dialysis)
- Wheelchairs
- Lift Operating Procedures (Hands On Training)
- Wheelchair and Occupant Securement (Hands On Training)
- Emergency and Evacuation Procedures
- Driver / Passenger Sexual Improprieties
- Driver Certification Examination
Day 3: Trainer Certification and Trainer Re-Certification
- Analyzing Tasks and Setting Objectives
- Working with Course Outlines, Lesson Plans and Audio-Visual Aids
- Delivering Training both in the Classroom and on the Job
- Using Training Tools
- Review and Trainer Certification Examination
To be trained and certified as a PASS Trainer, you must attend all three days of training!

Training Location: Marquette County Transit Authority (MARQTRAN), 1325 Commerce Drive. Registrants must make your own hotel reservations, if needed, with the Holiday Inn, 1951 US 41 West at 906.225.1351. A block of rooms will be held until September 24th.

Driving directions: The hotel is located on US 41 west. Bus service will be available to MARQTRAN.

Registrations are on a first come-first served basis, with consideration for statewide geographic coverage.
PASS Train the Trainer/3 days – $75 (100% refundable upon completion of training but your application must include check or credit card information for $75 to secure placement in class. A non-refundable $10.00 credit card processing fee will added to your on-line payment.) No registration approvals will be given until check or credit card payment is received. (Out of Michigan Registrants may be accepted only if space is available. The out of state registration fee is $500.00).
